The problem

Start with the real problem.

Large e-commerce products accumulate friction across discovery and purchase. The challenge was to improve important journeys without treating each screen as an isolated design task.

On a platform at this scale, small improvements in core journeys can affect a very large number of people.
My approach

Understand first. Then design.

My main contribution focused on creating and strengthening the design system and accessibility while examining the areas that have the greatest effect on shopping behaviour: top navigation, filters, product detail pages and checkout.

Process

From problem to solution.

01

Understand existing shopping journeys and interface patterns.

02

Identify friction in discovery, product evaluation and checkout.

03

Improve the design system and accessibility foundation.

04

Refine navigation, filters, product details and checkout.

The solution

Design that supports the outcome.

I improved the structure and interaction of key shopping journeys, strengthened consistency through the design system and incorporated accessibility considerations into the experience. The work was focused on making the platform easier to navigate, understand and use.

My role

More than the interface.

I approach product work across business, users and technology. Depending on the engagement, that means requirements, process analysis, product architecture, user flows, UX research, UI, design systems, accessibility, technical collaboration, QA and deployment support.
